I was really fascinated with this sale, auction time got completed when bid went to 82,000 USD. but two fellow guys repeatedly submit their bid to win this game ( a real chase )

Totally 48 bids and 82,0000 USD was the 42 nd bid. I was watching this game at the end when only 7 minutes left over for auction completion. One big joke was both guys adopted proxy bidding to capture that domain

One fellow guy made nearly 17 bids to capture america.com ( the starting bid was 1000 USD he was the 3rd bidder and he made bids continuosly 17 bids one after other up to 1,720,000. no one is ready to touch the game. i think if sedo has to give some clue

He may have not made so many bids if he was aware of sellers reserve (or)may be got that domain with some finance option if sellers reserve is known. everybody knows companies like domaincapital, digipawn, dncredit, domainbackers are ready to offer loan up to 60% of market value on domain names. In future more financing guys will jump to finance on domain names as domains are considered to be the hot property in the field of internet real estate. More over i am watching and observing that domain prices at after market gets boosts up each and every day.

Why last 2 bids of “xu.com “ retracted and price dropped from $185,000 to $90,000 ?

Do you know, only 3days still available for completion of auction, but 2 bid prices were retracted.

Few weeks ago all these 2 char domains were at dnforum for auctions but the minimum price doesn't exceeded 85k. Note: sedo is also a member there. If you complain about sedo regarding any problem in their service at dnforum you will be responded faster. But it is a paid forum (It has a Membership fee)

Okay we come to the topic, then these domains were placed at sedo as premium domains and broker initiated the auction. Only 2 domains were on the home page xu.com at 90,000 USD and zr.com at 85,000 USD. After 2 days suddenly xp.com came in the game and placed on top of "featured auctions listing" at 499,000 USD (maximum bid)

xu.com initial bid is 30,000 USD, 6 (or) 7 bids were received up to 185,000 USD (3 days remaining)but the last few bids were cancelled (when 1 day remains), similar to dollars.com. Such fake bids are made at each and every auctions and currently 5th bid is 85,000 USD (reserve is 200,000 to 499,999 – so reserve not met)

zr.com initial bid is 1000 USD, 6 bids were received up to 90,000 USD (3 days remaining) each and every auctions and currently 5th bid is 85,000 USD ( reserve is 200,000 to 500,000 - not met ) i noted when only 4 hr remains for auction completion.

xp.com initial bid 5,000 USD and final bid is 499,000 USD only i noted when only 4 hr remains for auction completion.9 bidders made 9 bids (no multiple or repeated bids) if some guy make 501,500 as the next higher bid,he will win and reserve is also met (reserve is 500,000 to 1,000,000 –here reserve is not met)

Domains can be sold with out the knowledge of share holders, provided selling price is 150% of the market value. The scheme is very good. I am also eager to submit few of my valuable domains in this, but i have to transfer my domains to Euro DNS. I also mailed to my registrar to become a FUSU approved registrar, but they refused to take part in such activities. If they get other registrars in their business with cheaper registration cost there are chances that their business will succeed. I also checked with the domains, they were registered at tucows / moniker / dotregistrar ETC “TOS is just thrown in dust box”. So many 3 char .com's and few one and two word domains are now listed at their home page."But i feel only a part of domain listing as premium domains" Some of these domain names are even for sale at sedo also. Parking earning is also given as dividend income. We can also sell our domains through them, commission charges are quite low.

Suddenly Last two bids (14th bid 500,000 Euro and 15 th bid 750,000 Euro - both bids are made by same bidder- bidder 10 ) for Dollars.com was cancelled and now current price of dollars.com is 300,000 Euro only. Now SEDO has changed in bidding place as "Reserve not met" 2d 5 hr remains for end of auction.

This affects both the value of the domain name and SEDO's reputation. It may be some fake bids (multiple bids 14th bid and 15th bid by same bidder) to raise the bid price. The fake bidder got afraid because he will be bind to pay if no further higher bids received. More over i am not able to understand how sedo allows like this (it will seriously affect the current domain owner)

If the same procedure is followed by (bidder 6 - who made a 13th bid of 300,000 Euro ) then the (11th bid 250,000 Euro and 12th bid 100,000 Euro - made by the fake bidder - bidder 10) what will be the position of the current domain name owner. How he will believe SEDO to sell domain names in his hand now. SEDO has to view this serious

Domain buyers and sellers have to view this point and make some reviews on this.
Who is the root cause for this problem?
Who are going to gain because of this scam? (either single person or multiple persons).
Who tries to scam whom? We have to think a lot to decide!

Casino770.com has purchased the domain name 770.com for 175,000 GBP. I was not able to believe the pricing, I browsed the site, it splits traffic in to two sites (casino770.com and poker770.com). As no proper records regarding the sale was available, before some 3 days ago - only referred at few blogs. I left without publishing in my blog. Generally “nnn.coms” are sold around 6500 USD on Live domain
name auctions. Last good sale of 736.com at SEDO is 9000 USD - I thought it as a good sale.

Casino770.com - online gambling operator purchased this domain name from a private investor. I am not able to view that this domain was available for auction at SEDO. Even though sale is made by them.I think that casino770.com has some specific interest on that domain and they wished to acquire at any cost, because of that it was sold at a very high price (BIN price i think)

I was only able to believe only when i saw a press release on "PRweb " There the director of business development - SEDO.co.uk was very happy and pleased with this high profile sale of red hot and short commodities like this.

ICANN Approval for .BIZ and .INFO to limit domain tasting?

In order to limit domain tasting incase of .BIZ and .INFO TLD's. The respective registries made a proposal for changes in their registry contract. They requested with a set of modifications to ICANN, a few weeks ago and the modifications were approved and from now onwards none of the registrar cannot freely delete more than 50 Domain names (or) 10% of domain names "Which ever is greater" registered through them in these TLD's per month. There is no such statement added regarding the refund of registration fee for deleted domain names.

The AGP (Add Grace Period) is the time granted for .com domains to delete and get full refund with in 5 days (maximum). Most of the registrars used this to generate a lot of funds by placing adsense for domains to earn even in millions. Termed as domain Tasting. A law suit was filed against Google and ICANN and at the same time Google updated its policies for adsense on domains they added few terms as such no ads will be provided for domains of age less than 5 days and ICANN introduced a fee if the domains deleted and deletion will not be more than 10% when asked for refund. and a small fee is charged for deleting domain names to limit domain tasting

Now the same situation of domain tasting is followed by registrars in other extensions. As .com tasting is limited the registrars jumped in to other extensions like .info and .biz. They started to register a lot of domain names and delete them if they didn’t satisfy parked earnings, the same with 5 days. It creates an unnecessary confusion for real buyers, as the domain not available for registration five days ago is still unregistered. Is there any fault in registry database (or) any scam to suck funds from them like that, These tasting registrations are useless and causes unnecessary load on registry databases. ICANN tries its best and acts fast in this regard to limit Domain Tasting.

The domain was registered in the mid of 1995 and domain renewal fee paid up to 2011. This domain name receives 4700 uniques per month. The domain name is parked with sedo. Visitors for this listing is around 4250 per month. As a domain seller, i see this is the only high quality domain name for auction next to pizza.com

Currently 10 bidders made around 15 bids, initial bid started from 100 Euro and current bid is 750,000 Euro.The estimated reserve price is met. The auction is set for 7 days and 4d-5hrs remains for end of auction. It is a high quality domain similar to Fund.com.

I personally feel the final sale price will be above pizza.com's price even with out marketing

This domain receives 37 % of traffic from US and 19% from Switzerland and 11% from Newzealand. The same domain in another extension " dollars.info " is also for sale at SEDO the asking price for that info domain is 6700 Euro.

Web Magic Ventures won its Ace.com at UDRP arbitration?

ACE limited an insurance company made an offer of 450,000 USD for a three char .com domain "ace.com" from its current owner Web Magic Ventures, as they rejected the offer to sell that domain ACE limited filed an UDRP (Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy) arbitration against Web Magic Ventures to acquire that domain and failed. UDRP panel left ACE limited without charging any penalty for its reverse domain name hijacking. Finally Web Magic Ventures won. ( Note : there are so many 3 char domains still under dispute, even .info and .biz extensions)

This domain name was originally registered by Web Magic Ventures. However ACE Limited filed a suit to claim for its trademark since 1985 at common law trademark rights. That panel concluded "ace" as a generic term and not a branded name that can be trade marked. They revealed that ace.com was not registered under bad faith to spoil the reputation of ACE Limited

Finally ACE Limited tried UDRP defense. They said that Web Magic Ventures do cyber squatting simply buy and sell domain names they park that domain for earnings and not registered to do any business like that. But Web Magic Ventures pointed that they started their business on their several domains

ACE Limited didn’t disclose any thing to the panel regarding the multiple attempts made by them to purchase the domain name from Web Magic Ventures. ACE Limited made several offers, starting from $450,000. Web Magic Ventures repeatedly rejected the offers and said the domain is not for sale. After few years of failed attempts to buy the domain name "ace.com", ACE Limited filed the UDRP arbitration.

Although Web Magic Ventures won the dispute, the panel did not find reverse domain name hijacking. It found that ACE Limited does have any rights on “ace.com” and left ACE Limited with out charging any penalty.

Note : Buy generic domain names only. Try to develop the domain, don’t park for prolonged periods. In most cases competitor ads may come and if they felt that it is a right domain for them. They will try to acquire the domain name, either by paying the owner or by filing a law suit. If you feel your domains are of lesser value and probably you wish to sell, better chance you may meet a fellow like ACE limited to buy one of your domain and you will sell that domain name for some high prices. Then you may be, quite a lucky fellow.

The main reason for this lower price is lack in marketability, If Michael spent some bucks on advertising about pizza.com before the auction he might have got more than 5 Millions for his Pizza.com, its earning potential is quite high and for the new buyer ROI will be around 5 - 6 years only and at that time, this e-property may worth more than 20 Million. After the sale of this domain, it was published on several pages on Search engine for lot of keyword searches related to "domain names" [ simply publicity goes to SEDO ] i feel Sedo appraisal team undervalued this domain name. their expected bid range is 1 - 1.5 Million, as the price went above this they said "reserve met" I saw at auction place " the minimum price set by the owner for auction of pizza.com was 100 bucks and only 24 bidders made some 70 bids on that domain. I was closely watching the auction even at the last minute left on 7 days of auction [ probably at regular intervals ]

The last but one bid was 2.505 Millions followed by 2.605 Millions. I am not able to understand whether only 24 bidder available in the entire world of domain market to bid on pizza .com.

More over all domain market place and domain auction sites will simply place your domain on their site and get commissions when that particular domain is sold. They wont help you in any way to sell your domain. You are the only person to do a lot of home work to sell your domain for higher bucks. Only possibility is to shout at all places as much as possible that this domain is for sale at such auction place. I mean that you have to place some sort of advertisements on several sites related to domain business. You can also contact and invite some end users to participate in auction.
