While branding domain name for your business, Professional generic domain name acts as a representative for your product or service to the entire industry. For example: Loans.com, Books.com, TV.com, Movies.com and Baby.com E.T.C. These are one word generics.

When you buy a generic domain to build your website, you are aligning your self as business leader of your sector either product or service. Researches from 2004 onwards showed that around 20% of daily global Internet users arrive at websites through "direct navigation" by browsing. Direct navigation means typing the URL [domain name] into a browser address bar / uses a bookmark. 20 % of free traffic to your web for life long, just for a one time investment i.e. Generic Domain Name that also a hand picked domain name.

Direct navigation traffic is possible if you own a Generic domain only. This type of high quality traffic is extremely valuable for the domain owner. Marketers and online businessmen have found out the value of type in traffic from direct navigation, they purchase generic domains at any cost even for millions for their online presence. Direct navigation will ensure that your visitors are actively interested and looking for the product or service related to your domain name, and will find your website without an agent.

More over such domains are hand picked and they are clear dictionary words. Words with numbers, hyphens and typo's are not at all considered as Generic domains, It must represent a product, service in a clear manner. It is a goldmine if you own a keyword domain; Even if it is a three word domain it is valuable. Such domains are generally normal in length, easily memorable and sexy so once a visitor visits your site, the visitor may revisit with out any distraction i.e. repeated high quality traffic is got without any floating expenses.

At present domain market is quite dull means sales prices are quite low and not up to our expectation, But soon it will boom up, I feel with in two years and the prices of domains will hike up like a sky rocket it is not easy to find a Creative Generic keyword Domain name. It involves Creative thinking and a lot of worthy brain storming process to pick a Generic Keyword Domain name for your business or service related industry. Software searches won’t provide worthy Domain selections, Hand picking is found to be the best from our experience. But it takes several hours to find a good quality Domain name.

Already best easily known keyword generics were registered by domainers. They acquired these domains few years back and renewals paid for more than five years with knowledge in market trend. This foresight made them millionaires, because the Cost of Generic top level Dot Com Domain name is millions worth.

If you have a glimpse to few of the Leading Domain Seller Market places and Auctions, You may find even non Generics, bids up to hundreds and thousands of Dollars, and then the only way to acquire a high quality Generic Keyword Domain is to buy at after market. Learn the Market Trend and grab a Creative Generic Domain Name, before any one else.

Some domainers say you can acquire good names from expired domains, please note it is just a bluff mostly all of them are just waste rags. if a good domain gets expired there is a bidding on that and software is available to pick them up and they are auctioned by proxy bidding so the prices will hike up. It is almost worthless when it is open for public registration. This is the situation for normal domains then how can you get a genetic key word domain. It is almost a tough game.

There is one more joke when you register domain names i.e. up to 100 domains you will be just registering that’s all, and after you acquire some 100's of domains and if you look back your domains, You feel that how foolish i am just registered so many worthless names. Even very good domainers feel like this. General concept is 4 out of 5 domains would worth less than the expectation, even if you work hard for 1 1/2 shift per day and collide with tons of key words to get a key domain for your product or service, you can find a real diamond from the junk, even now real gems are available. But most of them is over, As domainers scraped their heads for more than 10 years in this business.

I have collided my head with the four walls of my room, my computer , books ETC to build my small domain portfolio even best webmasters and SEO's stunned when they visited my domain portfolio and mailed their congrats that " most of your domains are very valuable and you will end up with potential end users who will be ready to pay up to six figures so you just wait for an end user to contact you, keep your mail up to date and respond properly when you receive a mail" I feel very thankful to those kind hearted friend who have spent their precious time to review my site and respond for my future endeavor. I personally feel that it is purely Gods grace, as almighty has his power to activate each and every aspect of this mighty world

I place a humble request to all my friends and community members to make a review on my site and post their valuable comments to improve the site statistics. As market places and auction sites put restrictions on prices, few wont consider domains not even 1 (or) 2, even if we submit in 100's. If it is considered for auction, Auction agreement is signed not for private sale for specific time ETC

As a result oversee.net acquired snapnames.com for 35 Million USD with in a few weeks also acquired Moniker.com for 25 Million USD. Similarly few domainer kings (Portfolio owners) Like Rick SChwartz , sahar sarid, Jeff Bhavnanie [ sahar's partner ] started their own auction site Bido.com with inauguration ceremony at Grand Hotel. All domainer got frustrated with market places and auction places.

similarly Fusu.com a privately owned site also started domain auction with in a few months of its domain share business

If it such, a pretty small domainer like me cant spend in millions like oversee (or) not able to inaugurate at a grand hotel like sahar. Only possibility was to convert my Generic hand picked portfoilio showcase website in to a Domain broker site.

All market places ( or ) auction places puts some restrictions either in pricing / consideration in some form to domainers, so i thought that my site will sell other domainers property also with minimum brokerage fee, no restriction like consideration no contract agreement ETC.

Thus Formed collisiondomains.com as a brokerage site. I wish that all friends utilize this opportunity to either sell (or) buy domain names. If you especially own Generic Hand picked Keyword domains. mail your domains for listing few will be added at home Page for free.

Regards

BK

For www.collisiondomains.com

First 100 Registrants? Now in the fine morning i checked with some keyword combinations like lease , news , domain , smart ETC. At that time i just typed "leasethis.com" to see the software appraisal value of Jonathan Boswell's domain. I was shocked to find that this domain is available for sale at sedo " Make Offer " with no min'm offer.

Immediately i made a mail to Kristine of Leasethis.com to refer the link and take action. If this error at SEDO database is corrected it will be automatically rectified at Estibot with in seconds, as it grabs the data from sedo. As Sedo has a huge database of 11.5 Million domain names. It is quite impossible for them, but the domainer who sold this domain name to Jonathan Boswell has to delete this domain from his list at sedo.

Regards

With in few hours, at evening, i got a thanking letter from Kristine Belarmino for bringing this to his attention, i already know Kristine, he is very sincere at his work, he thanked again and again for placing that message in his radar. I am very happy to receive a thanking from LeaseThis LLC

At the same time i once again checked at estibot for the same domain name "leasethis.com" the error has been corrected both at SEDO and Estibot ( Thanks for their timely action )

Regards

More about Domain Brokerage ?

A person or entity which works on behalf of the domain owner to sell a domain name is a domain broker. I was watching this game at the end when only 7 minutes left over for auction completion. One big joke was both guys adopted proxy bidding to capture that domain

One fellow guy made nearly 17 bids to capture america.com ( the starting bid was 1000 USD he was the 3rd bidder and he made bids continuosly 17 bids one after other up to 1,720,000. no one is ready to touch the game. i think if sedo has to give some clue

Eg

( If it is a broker initiated auction)

seller reserve - 3.5 Million (say) - concealed

broker reserve - 3 Million to 6 Million ( appraisal value by broker team)

when the domain bid exceeds 3 Million broker has to publicly open the sellers reserve price which is concealed in almost all the cases. In the situation of america.com the fellow guy made 17 bids ( he was testing waters to capture the domain very nearer to seller reserve)

He may have not made so many bids if he was aware of sellers reserve (or)may be got that domain with some finance option if sellers reserve is known. everybody knows companies like domaincapital, digipawn, dncredit, domainbackers are ready to offer loan up to 60% of market value on domain names. Market value of the domain name is calculated and 45% of total value "maximum" will be sold as shares to public. Share prices may vary from $ 0.1 to $ 1.0 as per the owners wish. For the sake of safety to their investors, domains are to registered (or) transferred to their approved registrars currently "Euro DNS" and if the domain owner wishes to sell the domain, secure transactions via escrow is done. Payments to the share holders are settled and remaining payment goes to domain owner

Domains can be sold with out the knowledge of share holders, provided selling price is 150% of the market value. As the market value of the domain increases simultaneously the share value also increases, hence gain for investors FUSU charges a brokerage commission of 1% for purchase and 1 % for sale, same procedure is followed for domain owners also.

The scheme is very good. I am also eager to submit few of my valuable domains in this, but i have to transfer my domains to Euro DNS. The company charges renewals @ 18 Euro per year (~ $ 28 you will pay renewal for 4 domains from this amount) this is the only problem. I also mailed to my registrar to become a FUSU approved registrar, but they refused to take part in such activities. If they get other registrars in their business with cheaper registration cost there are chances that their business will succeed. More over they have not revealed at any place in their site regarding the number of domainers and investors in their business " may be just nick name is enough" required to build trust

I also checked with the domains, they were registered at tucows / moniker / dotregistrar ETC “TOS is just thrown in dust box”. So many 3 char .com's and few one and two word domains are now listed at their home page."But i feel only a part of domain listing as premium domains" Some of these domain names are even for sale at sedo also. Parking earning is also given as dividend income. We can also sell our domains through them, commission charges are quite low.

Hot News on Dollars.com !

Suddenly Last two bids (14th bid 500,000 Euro and 15 th bid 750,000 Euro - both bids are made by same bidder- bidder 10 ) for Dollars.com was cancelled and now current price of dollars.com is 300,000 Euro only. Even though sale is made by them.I think that casino770.com has some specific interest on that domain and they wished to acquire at any cost, because of that it was sold at a very high price (BIN price i think)

I was only able to believe only when i saw a press release on "PRweb " There the director of business development - SEDO.co.uk was very happy and pleased with this high profile sale of red hot and short commodities like this.

If you ask domainers

What is the worth of my domain name?
They simply say it worth what the buyer wishes to pay to buy your domain name

ICANN Approval for .BIZ and .INFO to limit domain tasting?

In order to limit domain tasting incase of .BIZ and .INFO TLD's. The respective registries made a proposal for changes in their registry contract. They requested with a set of modifications to ICANN, a few weeks ago and the modifications were approved and from now onwards none of the registrar cannot freely delete more than 50 Domain names (or) 10% of domain names "Which ever is greater" registered through them in these TLD's per month. There is no such statement added regarding the refund of registration fee for deleted domain names.
The AGP (Add Grace Period) is the time granted for .com domains to delete and get full refund with in 5 days (maximum). Most of the registrars used this to generate a lot of funds by placing adsense for domains to earn even in millions. Termed as domain Tasting. A law suit was filed against Google and ICANN and at the same time Google updated its policies for adsense on domains they added few terms as such no ads will be provided for domains of age less than 5 days and ICANN introduced a fee if the domains deleted and deletion will not be more than 10% when asked for refund. and a small fee is charged for deleting domain names to limit domain tasting

Now the same situation of domain tasting is followed by registrars in other extensions. As .com tasting is limited the registrars jumped in to other extensions like .info and .biz. They started to register a lot of domain names and delete them if they didn’t satisfy parked earnings, the same with 5 days. It creates an unnecessary confusion for real buyers, as the domain not available for registration five days ago is still unregistered. Is there any fault in registry database (or) any scam to suck funds from them like that, These tasting registrations are useless and causes unnecessary load on registry databases. ICANN tries its best and acts fast in this regard to limit Domain Tasting.

Dollars.com is for sale at SEDO.

Virtual Network SA a portfolio owner sells one of his famous domain " Dollars.com " (finance and investment related domain) registered through Network Solutions LLC. The domain was registered in the mid of 1995 and domain renewal fee paid up to 2011. This domain name receives 4700 uniques per month. The domain name is parked with sedo. Visitors for this listing is around 4250 per month. As a domain seller, i see this is the only high quality domain name for auction next to pizza.com

Currently 10 bidders made around 15 bids, initial bid started from 100 Euro and current bid is 750,000 Euro. The estimated reserve price is met. The auction is set for 7 days and 4d-5hrs remains for end of auction. It is a high quality domain similar to Fund.com.

This auction is quite critical, i saw only one bidder is very much interested in this domain name and made 4 bids - probably double bids ( 11 th bid - 100,000 Euro, 12 th bid - 250,000 Euro, 14 th bid - 500,000 Euro and 15 th bid - 750,000 Euro ). above 100,000 Euro there are only 2 bidders. So there are lesser chances for higher prices. Even then there may be some guy waiting to make a high bid at the last minute of auction for his sure fire success.

The Google results for keyword "dollars" is : 193,000,000
Max PPC bid is $ 4.3
OVT Searches / month : 96200
Word Tracker Searches / day : 365
Alexa ranking : 1,517,760.

Even though the keyword "dollar" has lesser searches compared to pizza. It is a finance related domain name. This domain also faces the same situation - no proper marketing, the number of bids and bidders will be more only if the current owner wills to do some marketing activity by placing some eye catching banner ads at different domain sale sites, domain forums and even search engine campaigns - adwords ad related to domain keywords. I personally feel the final sale price will be above pizza.com's price even with out marketing

This domain receives 37 % of traffic from US and 19% from Switzerland and 11% from Newzealand. The same domain in another extension " dollars.info " is also for sale at SEDO the asking price for that info domain is 6700 Euro.

Web Magic Ventures won its Ace.com at UDRP arbitration?

ACE limited an insurance company made an offer of 450,000 USD for a three char .com domain "ace.com" from its current owner Web Magic Ventures, as they rejected the offer to sell that domain ACE limited filed an UDRP (Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy) arbitration against Web Magic Ventures to acquire that domain and failed. UDRP panel left ACE limited without charging any penalty for its reverse domain name hijacking. Finally Web Magic Ventures won. ( Note : there are so many 3 char domains still under dispute, even .info and .biz extensions)

This domain name was originally registered by Web Magic Ventures. However ACE Limited filed a suit to claim for its trademark since 1985 at common law trademark rights. That panel concluded "ace" as a generic term and not a branded name that can be trade marked. They revealed that ace.com was not registered under bad faith to spoil the reputation of ACE Limited

Finally ACE Limited tried UDRP defense. They said that Web Magic Ventures do cyber squatting simply buy and sell domain names they park that domain for earnings and not registered to do any business like that. But Web Magic Ventures pointed that they started their business on their several domains

ACE Limited didn’t disclose any thing to the panel regarding the multiple attempts made by them to purchase the domain name from Web Magic Ventures. ACE Limited made several offers, starting from $450,000. Web Magic Ventures repeatedly rejected the offers and said the domain is not for sale. After few years of failed attempts to buy the domain name "ace.com", ACE Limited filed the UDRP arbitration.

Although Web Magic Ventures won the dispute, the panel did not find reverse domain name hijacking. It found that ACE Limited does have any rights on “ace.com” and left ACE Limited with out charging any penalty.

Note : Buy generic domain names only. Try to develop the domain, don’t park for prolonged periods. In most cases competitor ads may come and if they felt that it is a right domain for them. They will try to acquire the domain name, either by paying the owner or by filing a law suit. If you feel your domains are of lesser value and probably you wish to sell, better chance you may meet a fellow like ACE limited to buy one of your domain and you will sell that domain name for some high prices. After the sale of this domain, it was published on several pages on Search engine for lot of keyword searches related to "domain names" [ simply publicity goes to SEDO ] i feel Sedo appraisal team undervalued this domain name. their expected bid range is 1 - 1.5 Million, as the price went above this they said "reserve met" I saw at auction place " the minimum price set by the owner for auction of pizza.com was 100 bucks and only 24 bidders made some 70 bids on that domain. I was closely watching the auction even at the last minute left on 7 days of auction [ probably at regular intervals ]

The last but one bid was 2.505 Millions followed by 2.605 Millions. I am not able to understand whether only 24 bidder available in the entire world of domain market to bid on pizza .com.

More over all domain market place and domain auction sites will simply place your domain on their site and get commissions when that particular domain is sold. They wont help you in any way to sell your domain. You are the only person to do a lot of home work to sell your domain for higher bucks. Only possibility is to shout at all places as much as possible that this domain is for sale at such auction place. I mean that you have to place some sort of advertisements on several sites related to domain business. You can also contact and invite some end users to participate in auction.

It is very peculiar in some cases that even the buyer may directly contact you and place an appreciable price for your domain. So many domains are sold in private like this. You can save the brokerage commissions paid to the third party. Only escrow fees is paid for safer transaction

The reason for fund.com sold for 10 Million is, that it is a finance related domain generally finance related domains, health related domains and internet related domains sells for higher bucks. Vodka a liquor related domain sold for 3 Million is a good sale. Note it is also sold at sedo.

Author: Professional domain seller specifically interested to buy domain names, especially interested in generic domains. www.collisiondomains.com is my web address, get a fair idea on generic domain name purchase. But SEO is not a one day game. It is a very long process and it takes several months to become successful to get SEO Traffic. More over you have to pay all around the year to SEO / SEM concern to keep your site in top for specific keywords in Search engine result pages (SERP). But the search engine algorithm is changed so frequently that SE Owners wishes to provide quality service to their customers to stay ahead in competition (Probably fresh content, daily updated site to its customers). Even then when ever a customer get up with a site of useful resources on loan / insurance / job site / dating site. From the very next time they forget Search engine searches and simply type the domain names in their memory on web browsers. They need to go fast.

SEO charges are so high that it ends up to $ 500 per hour for consultation and few of the business giants are happy to pay, more over it suck up to xxx,xxx bucks for a single year, to optimize few pages (up to 10 pages) of your site, for some specific key words only. For small business owners it is quite impossible. Better become a domain owner. So simply search for domain names for sale and buy a domain appropriate for your online presence.

If your domain name is irrelative to your product (or) service, long, forgettable, confusable, Simply non-generic then there are more chances that you loose your customer as they will simply forget your domain name, and type some thing irrelevant and end up in some sort of useless information and fatigue. They may try once or twice to avail your service, if they failed, immediately they use search engine and at that time they may end up with some other site.
